Supporting Community Growth: Amity Motel Backs Stratford Park

 Amity Motel is proud to support the Stratford Park project, a unique facility being developed in Stratford, Taranaki, that aims to deliver an unparalleled experience for locals and visitors alike. The project aligns with Amity Motel's values of contributing to the growth and prosperity of the local community.

Stratford is a fantastic place to live, work, and visit, and the Stratford Park project will continue to enhance the town's offering. The project aims to elevate the town of Stratford and the region of Taranaki to the people of New Zealand and around the world. The park will be an exemplary facility and attraction, sustaining itself, visitors, the town, and the local ecosystem.

After 110 years of shows, events, stock car racing, and leading-edge farming/learning, the park is reflecting on its past and aiming to regenerate itself as a world-leading, indispensable events and activity venue. Evolving over the next 150 years, it will help the community thrive through global and local challenges.

The Stratford Park project includes various facilities, such as the A&P event and showgrounds, the motorsport facilities, and the multi-facility equestrian park. The A&P Event Park will feature upgraded and modernized facilities to host the much-loved A&P Shows. The hopes are that ultimately, the space will allow bigger gatherings such as festivals and concerts and bigger shows.

The motorsport facilities are intended to be a national center for motorsport excellence based in the heart of Taranaki. The facilities will be able to provide new and exciting events covering multiple motorsport categories, including driver training, track days, club days, speedway track, circuit track, drag strip, burnout pad, rally and tarmac circuits, off-road tracks, corporate events, private hire, garages, and a motor museum. The final piece of land has been secured to ensure the motorsport park goes ahead, thanks to the support of local Taranaki people who share the vision for creating a facility that will support Taranaki and Stratford for many generations.

The multi-facility equestrian park aims to attract national horse events to the region and be a welcoming space for all horse lovers, from beginners to national and international level riders. Run by the A&P but supported by many of the key local horse associations and clubs, the facility aims to attract various events such as show jumping, dressage, cross country, pony clubs, western riding, trekking, and in-hand showing.

The equestrian park will include an indoor arena, sand arena, warm-up area, show-jumping, pony club grounds, covered and uncovered stables, and wash bays. The park aims to provide opportunities for education and even rehabilitation facilities for horses in the future.
